…for those who never give up and are doing what they love no matter what!

Year: 2014

  • 1998 Throwback thursday

Throwback thursday! The year was 1998 and I had a Gt dyno slammer frame with Hoffman Love Handles and I was really into street and rails!

Training report: For two weeks now Sweden has been full of snow so I´ve been hitting the gym a lot and had some sweet out door running sessions. Since I started using the Lifesum app to control my food intake I’ve lost 4 kg in 16 days so that is in the right direction!

I really hope the snowing will stop now… I´m race ready 🙂

  • Super duper gym session

Had a super duper good gym session in space today including legs, back and chest. First time I really felt that I have become stronger overall, yay!

  • Health and diet with Mathias from PromoCare

Ended last week with a super great course of health and diet with Mathias from PromoCare and today I had my body checked. First he measured my body fat and muscle percent then I had a ride on a spinbike. The results were not that bad but he said that my body would feel better if I lost a few kilos 😉 So from now I’m on a more healthier diet and I’m gonna lose 8 kg in 16 weeks. As help I will be using the app Lifesum to count my calorie intake. This cleaver little app is pretty nice. I just scan the package of what I’m gonna eat and it tells me the calories per unit and then I just put the numbers in and plan my meals. I can also add my training and the calories I burn so the more I train the more I can eat, win.

Had a few track days last week but today the training was cancelled due to snow so I went to the gym instead and had a great session.

  • Hard rain

Thursday was a fun day! Hard rain, no wind and a perfect track made this evening superb! Me and Tobias Staaf followed Filip Svanberg’s training program which included a lot of speed and intervals. After this we had some technique training and finished this of with some short pump races. I never been this wet after a training before and my feet and hands were dead cold but I’m still smiling.

  • Specialized Speedzone Sport Wireless Computer

This year started with a lot of gym sessions, mostly legs and back but pretty much all round. I also had a some track time in wind and rain, the track in Kungsbacka is holding up really nice even though it’s January and people still showing up at practice, that is awesome.

I’ve been testing a bike computer for a while now, I bought the Specialized Speedzone Sport Wireless Computer. This one is basic and straight forward. You got Speed, Maximum Speed, Average Speed, Odometer, Trip Meter and Low Battery Indicator. The only thing I am interested in for now is the maximum speed so I can check which part of the track I achieve the highest speed and for that purpose, this one is perfect. As you see on the picture I mounted the computer on the seat tube upside down instead of on the handlebar as they say it should be, for this I had to glue on a extra bracket on the computer holder. I did this ‘cause I wanted it as hidden as possible and when I sit on the bike it’s easy to just bend down or pull upp the bike and see the numbers. The sensor that measure the speed I mounted on the seat stay (you attach a magnet to a spoke that spins by the sensor and that’s where the magic happens).

The speedzone sport wireless computer have been doing its job for me but there is one thing that irritates me a little bit, you can’t (what I have found?) zero/reset one specific thing for example Maximum Speed, I want to reset this after each lap and still remain the Trip Meter numbers so I can see how long I ride each practice. This seems to be impossible ’cause the reset is on all functions, except the Odometer and that is a little bit weird in my mind.
