  • Took home the total win and the gold plate in the Swedish Cup

Last day of the year. A year with races and hard crashes. A year when I got the happy felling of winning some races and the most awesome of all to take home the total win and the gold plate in the Swedish Cup, 30+ bmx cruiser class. I hope next year will be as nice as this. The competition will be much harder next year so it’s going to be awesome.

See you tomorrow and happy new year!

  • Good things and bad things

Good thing is that training feels better and better of track and the bad thing is that my friend Fredrik crashed at training today and went to the hospital in an ambulance. I got a message from him later to day and he said he was ok, something with his ribs and his pinky had a fracture. Hope you heal quick buddy!

  • Got some laps done in the rain today!

Got some laps done in the rain today! Already at the warm up lap I felt that my legs were exhausted so this session was kinda rough.

  • Street and ramp session with Fredrik, Johan and Hannes

Today I had a awesome street/ramp session with Fredrik, Johan and Hannes in “berget”, a skatepark here in Gothenburg. Second time I’m trying to ride a cruiser in the ramps but the first time with the Standard 125-RC 24 frame and it felt really awesome, damn I love it.

This week also included some great gym sessions, legs and back as usual, hep!

  • Snowy days and ice track

Winter is here… Bmx training has changed to gym sessions. Yesterday we went to the track and rid between the ice spots and it was kinda fun but I hope it will melt until Thursday.

  • Warrior Blend

The storm Sven is here in Sweden with strong winds and snow, so the bmx training turned to a gym session with a sip of Warrior Blend!

  • Everything is running smoothly now

This week i’ve just been riding, riding and working out, everything is running smoothly now practice wise.

Some thoughts have been running through my mind lately though, I’ve been thinking of my wheels and how to use them. Some say that I should use them as my race wheels for competitions and use my old ones for training and some just tell me to ride them as usual. I’ve had a hard time to decide what to do. I feel that the differences between the sets are so big that changing will affect my training a lot. Yes I could buy an extra set of the Answer wheels, that would be the best of cause, but that’s too expensive and out of budget…

Conclusion: I think that in my case when I have two wheel sets that really are different from each other, changing to the better set just on race day will affect my riding a lot because everything I’ve been working on at training will not be the same and as precise and the self esteem on the bike will be lower. So for now I will use my new wheel set both on training and on races until I can afford to buy an extra set in same standard.

  • Focusing on bike handle and technique

I’ve had four training sessions at the track this week. Because of my new awesome Answer wheels I’ve been focusing on bike handle and technique the three last session! The bike is so much lighter now and it’s really noticeable so it feels like a new bike, a bike that I love!

  • Answer Pro Pinnacle 24″

Today I got my new set of light weight bmx cruiser racing wheels, Answer Pro Pinnacle 24″! The front wheel weight in at 813 grams and the rear wheel (without cog) 978 grams.

After I’d put the wheels on and pumped some air into the presta tubes, which is standard on these beauties, I went out on the street to get a feeling of them and wow what they felt different from my old ones, almost felt that I was flying past the cars 😉 I never ridden a cassette wheel before so the sound was a little bit louder then I’m use to but it was nice, more racing! Tomorrow I will try them out for real at the track, pumped!

  • Me, my son and girlfriend took a trip to the racing track today

Took my son and girlfriend to the track today! I had a manual day and managed to manual one of the larger doubles, two times. I’ve been struggling with this for long now so it was nice to finally pull this of, I feel that the new frame is giving me more and more technique-extra-power love now, and that’s awesome.

The rest of the family had a pleasant walk for an hour. For my kid Penn it was his first time at the track, for being 18 days old he didn’t show any rejecting feelings towards bmx yet 😉
